Viking’s Russian River Cruises Microsite

Viking River Cruises wanted to show their “Real Russia” Russian River Cruises in full color splendor by creating a photo and video driven microsite.

Since the audience is an older demographic, the site had to be ultra user-friendly with large buttons that also work on an iPad, large type and high contrast for easy legibility.

While the final site TheRealRussia.com still has a responsive design, the photos and videos were preserved at their true proportions to keep their beauty intact. Originally designed with a Garamond web font, the site eventually went live with a standard Verdana.

Screen design for European Parliament Visitor Center “Parliamentarium”

I am so excited. After working for three years on the interactive screen designs at Markenfilm Crossing, the visitor center has finally opened.

I designed all the touch screen stations as well as the mobile guide, a customized iPod Touch, following the CI guidelines created by Atelier Brückner in Stuttgart. My in-depth knowledge about vision and accessibility were a tremendous asset to make the screens not only visually engaging but also user-friendly for visitors of all ages.

Markenfilm’s Parlamentarium microsite was also designed by me. You can also watch the video and more images there.

Markenfilm Website

Markenfilm is the largest commercial film production company in Europe. Part of the group are multimedia company Markenfilm Crossing and post-production shop Infected. Redesigning their website was not an easy feat since it involved putting all three companies under one (online) roof.

The solution was to create a flexible user interface with a unifying design that allows each company to show off their work in a way that works for them. Without sacrificing the whole. Color coding the header and menu as well as the team pages while otherwise using the same design grid separates and unifies at the same time.
